JULIA BELIAEVA

Julia Beliaeva (b. 1988 in the Haisyn Vinnytsia region, Ukraine) graduated from the Kyiv State Institute of Decorative and Applied Art and Design, named after Mykhailo Boychuk. Using cutting-edge technologies such as 3D scanning, 3D modeling, 3D printing, and virtual reality, she reinterprets tradition and traditional media in an ever-changing, virtualized world. She explores how technology influences us and our consciousness, as well as how new technologies can reinterpret and revitalize traditional media. Julia often works with porcelain, a material that allows her to reflect on heritage and lost traditions, blending innovative technologies with the legacy of Ukraine's once-flourishing ceramic industry, which has now largely disappeared.
