METAPHYSICS is an exploration of a changing nature of material in the digitalised world. Algorithms and models are tools offering creators of the new era a way to get round the physical limitations in their work, liberating human imagination and allowing to test numerous hypotheses in digital laboratories. Referencing a concept of metamaterials and experiments with digital physics, Zhestkov reflects on the invisible restraints that we carry from our physical existence into emerging virtual spaces and imagines how sculpture would transform in these worlds — by achieving an ability to move and change.
