Matthew Stone has always wanted to make religious paintings, while also looking to disrupt the holy status of paint as the 'cosmic flesh' of art history. A continuous thread of bodies and painting, together and in motion, flows through everything he creates. 

These "religious paintings" have taken various forms, from photographs of friends that read like Carravaggio, to mystic nightclub performances that felt like modern ceremonies. His printed abstract paintings of digitised gestural brushstrokes look like dance. Culminating from years of experiments, since 2015, his figurative works wrap paint around digital avatars.

About the Frame
The frame is white glazed ayous wood with acrylic glass that has 84% UV protection. Framed dimensions are 43 x 63 cm; 17 3/4 x 24 3/4 in.

About the 24-Hour Edition Drops
The 24-HOUR EDITION DROP is a concept that allows artists to sell an unlimited number of physical editions within the limited timeframe of 24 hours on misa.art. Each edition is available for 24 hours only, then never again.

The editions are numbered randomly; the edition number is not chronologically assigned to the time of order receipt. All 24-HOUR EDITION DROP prints are made to order. Each artwork is produced and personalized specifically for each client. The artwork, therefore, is not eligible for return.
